We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” E.E. Cummings.
Moving deeper in to the quote and wisdom above, could it be possible that for the revelation to occur within oneself it must be from oneself? Let us approach this holistically. It should be safe to assume that one’s “external” environment influences the individual and vice versa. So in the case above would it be safer to state that: we believe in ourselves once we have recognised our potential, which ultimately stems form self realisation. Now the self realisation can absolutely have influences from others, and the “outside” environment but ultimately self realisation leads you on the path to self awareness, self actualisation, self knowledge and being.
